The John Grube Foundation e.V., based in Hamburg, awards the “John Grube Prize” in honour of its namesake, who died young of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA). The DGRH has been involved in the award since 2021 by appointing a board member to the foundation’s advisory board and providing a platform and a worthy setting for the award ceremony at the German Rheumatology Congress. The John Grube Prize honours research work that makes a significant contribution to the understanding and treatment of ANCA-associated vasculitis. It is endowed with 15,000 euros. The prize was awarded for the first time in 2021.
John Grube died in 2017 as a result of an unusually severe episode of granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA). A few months later, relatives and friends founded the John Grube Foundation e.V. to promote research, better information and more extensive support for sufferers and relatives.
The following should be submitted until May 31st 2024:
- a publication on ANCA-associated vasculitis
- a short, coherent summary of the research work and results
- a current curriculum vitae
