Communications Writer

Ashley is a storyteller and poet who has written a handful of books, including, At the ThresholdUp: A Love Letter to the Down Syndrome Community, and I Have Waited for You: Letters from Prison. She believes stories have the power to connect us and remind us we’re not alone.

In her previous work, she’s had the blessing of working alongside and learning from the Down syndrome community, Parkinson’s community, and those impacted by mass incarceration. She’s taught yoga to elders and hosts a podcast called “I’m Curious.”

When she’s not working, you can find her reading on her purple couch, doing a headstand on her yoga mat, or petting her neighbors’ dogs. She lives in Alexandria, VA, with her growing collection of plants.
